Key Characteristics

  • PIB Wrappingbands have no holidays occur at impact resistance tests of 354 in/lbf and indentation resistance testing of 10 N/mm2 (1450 psi)
  • Punctures are filled by the polymer’s non-crosslinked cold flow properties, filling in a <6mm puncture in <24hr @ 23°C
  • PIB Wrappingband covers the substrate fully; it has no lap seams at overlaps (adhesive strength > cohesive strength)
  • PIb Wrappingband has no crosslinking with isoprene, therefore the material never cures and remains inert despite weatherization or exposure
  • PIB Wrappingband has continuous self-healing properties because the lack of crosslinking results in true cold flow properties
