Pipelines

Tanks
Tank Sealing & Permanent Maintenance
Tanks are vital assets in so many of our industrial operations. Geodesic tank domes are prone to leaking through the seams and all tank domes have high-corrosion along the roof edges and pipes breaching the tank roof. Tank chimes also are prone to water invasion and corrosion at their base. Traditional paint coatings are quickly compromised in the adverse atmospheric and situational conditions they are exposed to on tanks.
Our polyisobutene, thermoplastic, and robust wall coatings are true solutions that completely prevent and arrest corrosion and leakage on tank domes, seams, chimes, and extrusions and connections. Corrosion Under Insulation
Our thermal coatings and pre-made polyisobutene vapor barriers completely stop and prevent Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI).
IESG’S THERMAL & CUI COATINGS SYSTEM IS THE GOLD-STANDARD FOR CUI PREVENTION
IESG’s thermal coatings and CUI coatings systems perform better, cost less, and install quicker than existing systems. Our thermal coatings have superior thermal emissivity performance with fewer coats and can reduce or eliminate completely the need for batted insulation. Our polyisobutene moisture-barriers can completely seal any CUI system and do not age or degrade from leaching insulation fluids, thermal shock, or flue gasses.
IESG’s thermal and CUI coatings are used on major new projects such as Venture Global’s Plaquemines and Calcasieu Pass 2 LNG facilities and for maintenance at major facilities, such as Exxon’s Gulf Coast Growth Ventures facility. We can provide the entire insulation system including CUI protection and upgrade parts of existing insulation systems.
Offshore
Extending the lifetime of offshore assets by decades
Offshore assets present some of the most difficult FM and engineering challenges. Corrosion is magnified out in the humid salt-water environment and there are additional regulations and less space to contend with. Our coatings strengths cover all of Offshore assets common weaknesses. Our offshore coatings, in particular our polyisobutene (PIB) and thermoplastic coatings, are not chemically susceptible to salt ion exposure like traditional coatings. Our coatings and their needed application equipment (i.e. a few hand tools for the PIB coatings) take up almost no space and are easy to move around the platform. And our coatings are easy to inspect, completely non-hazardous with no VOCs or other risky chemicals found in traditional coatings.
From CUPS (or POC corrosion as some call it) to flanges, pipes, tanks, and office space containers, we can arrest corrosion instantly and give you corrosion-free assets for decades more to come. Our anti-corrosion coatings work, and they work well and are not easily compromised (you’d have to purposefully damage them because ordinary wear and tear won’t bother our PIB or thermoplastics). Most of the majors in the Gulf of Mexico use our coatings, whether for particularly difficult and corrosion-heavy spots, or just for common-use metal surfaces and important pipes or tanks.

Splashzone
Enduring protection from corrosion in high-impact splashzone sites
Our robust 90 mil polyisobutene splashzone coatings provide complete and enduring protection from water, microbes, and oxygen. Our Wrappingband WSH can be applied on-site and in the water with similar minimal surface preparation requirements as is common to many of our coatings. Our splashzone anti-corrosion coatings have a service life of 30 years at minimum, and we have yet to reach the end of life of an existing system. We have additional outerwraps for increased mechanical protection appropriate to the increased impacts in splashzone.

Roofing materials are expected to withstand not only wind, rain, and sun, but in commercial and industrial settings they also undergo frequent use by HVAC and other mechanical teams. Traditional sealants, paints, rubber variants, and silicones all end up being compromised and leaking when they are walked on, dried in the sun with time, or have punctures when a new device is anchored to the roof.
