Cladding and Sealing
PIB Aluclad is a polyisobutene self-bonding sealant combined with a flexible, reinforced aluminium backing for use as a water vapor barrier and sealant
- Chemical and Petrochemical industry: Used over thermal insulation materials and as sealant on seams of installed cladding for both hot and cold pipes, fittings, vessels, etc.
- HVAC: Used over thermal insulation materials and on seams of installed cladding on HVAC pipes, ducts, etc.
- Building: Used as a membrane in building construction, e.g. around windows, doors, walls, and other trouble spots.
Tank Bottoms
For tank chime protection
The tank chime (the junction where the tank shell meets the bottom plate) is particularly susceptible to corrosion due to its exposure to moisture, contaminants, and crevice conditions.
PIB based corrosion prevention is impermeable to water and oxygen. It’s UV stable and polyisobutene polymer is not susceptible to the weathering effects of constant exposure. It will not cure, crack or dry-out, extending the lifespan of storage tanks and reduce costly repairs or failures.

- corrosion preventative properties. The non-curing, surface tolerant PIB Filler
- is designed for filling and protecting hard-to-clean corrosion sensitive areas where
- water can accumulate. Due to the permanent liquid properties the PIB Filler should
- be covered with additional PIB materials like PIB Wrappingband and Outerwrap.
