Krk FSRU (LNG Croatia). New floating terminal. The previous coating system of the LNG terminal pilots was PU paint, which already has signs of flaking off.
To protect the Jetty Piles and maintain the new terminal’s high status, the PIB Splash Zone System was proposed. It can encapsulate the previous coating from contaminating the water and protect the Jetty pile from corrosion with 30+ years of protection.
Solution:
Trial run, then expansion to full scope of work
As part of an initial trial phase, the PIB Splash Zone System was applied to two jetty piles to evaluate the performance.
The trial application was completed on July 14, 2022. To ensure a successful outcome, comprehensive training and support was provided.
Following the successful trial, it was agreed to expand the scope of work. Throughout 2023 and 2024, the full PIB system was applied to over 50 jetty piles. This solution is designed to deliver long-term corrosion protection, with an expected lifespan of over 30 years.
